2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 Preventative Maintenance & Equipment Inspection (25%)

• Executes scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, fans, and production equipment according to maintenance schedules.
• Inspects mechanical equipment visually and with diagnostic instruments to detect misalignment, wear, vibration, or impending component failure.
• Lubricates machines, replaces filters, cleans components, and adjusts mechanical clearances to maintain manufacturer operating tolerances.
• Documents inspection findings, component wear rates, and completed maintenance tasks in [HRIS_NAME] within [N_BUSINESS_DAYS] of completion.

2.2 Mechanical Diagnostics & Corrective Repairs (25%)

• Troubleshoots operational malfunctions on active production equipment using diagnostic tools, technical drawings, and fault trees.
• Disassembles malfunctioning assemblies, replaces defective bearings, shafts, gears, valves, and seals, and reassembles equipment to OEM specifications.
• Performs laser or dial-indicator shaft and pulley alignments on rotating assemblies to eliminate vibration and premature failure.
• Conducts functional test runs following repairs to verify operating performance and safety interlock functionality before releasing equipment to production.

2.3 Fluid Power & Pneumatic Systems (15%)

• Diagnoses, repairs, and replaces hydraulic pumps, cylinders, proportional valves, manifolds, hoses, and filtration units.
• Services compressed air delivery systems, including pneumatic actuators, directional valves, air preparation units, and regulator assemblies.
• Inspects fluid lines for leaks, pressure drops, or contamination, executing corrective repairs to maintain design operating pressures.
• Follows zero-energy de-energization procedures to discharge trapped hydraulic and pneumatic pressure before servicing pressurized circuits.

2.4 Equipment Installation, Rigging & Commissioning (15%)

• Positions, levels, anchors, and aligns newly installed machinery on foundations using optical levels, plumb lines, jacks, and shims.
• Operates overhead cranes, chain falls, slings, and material handling equipment to lift and move heavy equipment according to safe rigging standards.
• Connects mechanical drive units, couplings, chains, belts, and auxiliary systems to primary power transmission units.
• Participates in initial mechanical commissioning, dry-run testing, and handover testing alongside [REPORTS_TO_TITLE] and operations personnel.

2.5 Welding, Fabrication & Machining (10%)

• Fabricates custom brackets, guards, chutes, and structural supports using basic shop machinery, including drill presses, band saws, and grinders.

• Operates shop lathes and milling machines to perform basic shaft turning, bushing fabrication, or component modification.

2.6 Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance (10%)

• Adheres strictly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and zero-energy state verification procedures before beginning maintenance on any equipment.
